Richlite® is made primarily of paper purchased from FSC-Certified sources and/or recycled paper. The paper is treated with resin then pressed and baked to create solid sheets.
Richlite® is different in a natural and better kind of way. The same material has been used for decades by the aerospace industry for tooling, the marine industry for fiberglass reinforcement and the action sports industry for outdoor skate ramp surfaces. It's beautiful, unquestionably durable and will last for years.

Richlite® is classified green in large part because the predominate raw material is derived from renewable or recycled resources. Managed and sustainable forests, habitat conservation efforts, along with prudent manufacturing practices are just some of the environmental mandates that go into our product.
We use the most environmentally benign production methods and materials available. During the saturation and drying process, over 99% of the volatile organic compounds are incinerated. The heat from that incineration is used for the drying process to minimize thermal pollution. There is no hazardous waste generated in our process.
Does Richlite® off-gas?
No. Richlite® does not off-gas because the compounds inside it chemically cross-link during the manufacturing process and are locked into the solid surface creating a homogenous mater.

Richlite® Colors, Sizes & Features
Richlite® sheets come in a variety of colors and sizes to suit any
design style in the kitchen, bathroom or office. The material is
available through authorized dealers in three quarter inch to one
and a half inch thick sheets up to five feet wide and twelve feet long. In addition, thinner backsplash material is available.
Richlite® Certified Fabricators can shape extravagant edges and route
artistic features like drain channels directly in the material.
You get what you pay for. Faux edges hide the true thickness of many
stone and solid surface products. Richlite is designed to look beautiful
without a built up edge. Its more economical and looks better to
install a thick sheet of Richlite with a nice routed edge than to seam
it with a faux edge. Richlite Corp. does not recommend fabricating built
up edges with the material.
A Richlite certified fabricator can produce clean seams. They're not
invisible but much cleaner than what can achieved through stone
countertops. Richlite comes in up to 12-foot lengths and five-foot
widths so most projects can be accomplished without a seam due to the
size of the sheet.
