Help Barrels of Hope (BOH) Ambassadors Get To Haiti

After many months of raising money and connecting with volunteers from other organizations as well as information-gathering and networking, BOH is finally ready to get materials to Haiti.

Although our ambitious goal of raising $100,000 before the hurricane season was not met, we did suceed in raising around $13,000 which has been assigned to material costs set at $300 per house.
Now we are ready to bring houses to places such as Leogonne, Petit A Goave, Jacamel, and Jane Wynne's farm in Kenscoff, but we need to ask for your help one more time in getting representatives down there.  We are seeking to raise $800 for both BOH Ambassadors to Haiti and back.

This will hopefully be the first trip of many to get the buildings built with help from people in their own communities that want to begin to build affordable, sustainable and safe housing in their areas.  This first trip will establish relationships in person with other volunteer aid organizations, community leaders and ultimately build the first BOH earthbag house in Kenscoff which will act as a demonstration and training shelter for future shelters.

If you have already given to the BOH program, thank you.  If you would please consider making another small donation to make this dream of helping the earthquake vicitims with a sustainble, long-term housing solution for themselves, it will help make the dream a reality.
